Hello Students!
As a friendly reminder, please hand in all work to be considered for grade by Friday, May 13, 2011. Any materials handed in later than that date (not including the Project)will be penalized -10 points. The project's due date is also Friday. Please also check the Homework and Exercises tab; I've placed new work there.

We have been working with interjections in class with our reading selections and in-class practice. Here is a fun video explaining the use of interjections. Hey! Start the video!
My Favorite Book: The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

The movies were visually stunning, but the book, or trilogy as they have been divided into, is much better, giving the reader real insight to one of the twentieth century's greatest authors. Here is a slideshow presentation on Tolkien's life.

William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare (baptised 26 April 1564; died 23 April 1616) was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon". His surviving works, including some collaborations, consist of about 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright. His works often explore the human condition, that is, the range of human emotions and experiences.
My favorite quote: "I am myself indifferent honest;
but yet I could accuse me of such things that it
were better my mother had not borne me: I am very
proud, revengeful, ambitious, with more offences at
my beck than I have thoughts to put them in,
imagination to give them shape, or time to act them
in. What should such fellows as I do crawling
between earth and heaven? We are arrant knaves, all; believe none of us" Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, III.i
